STONE CROSSING [Stone Crossing Halt]
A former South Eastern & Chatham railway station located just east of Dartford, Kent. Opened in 1908, it was originally of timber construction but the Southern Railway rebuilt it in concrete in 1930. The original 1908 signal box survives although it now only controls the level crossing. It was modified in 1970 to serve a dual puropse as a ticket office but this arrangement ceased around the time of privatisation. The SR concrete waiting shelters on the platforms were demolished in 2008. Operated by Southeastern. CRS code: SCG.
